Our Story
Intelligent Loss Prevention is a division of
Southern Imperial, Inc., leading manufacturer of innovative retail fixture and display solutions. Southern Imperial was established in 1956 as a small, family company producing threaded wire products in a 3,000-square-foot factory. Today we're a company family – an employee-owned corporation based in a 400,000-square-foot manufacturing and warehouse facility.
Joining the Southern Imperial family in 2009, Intelligent Loss Prevention was developed to meet the need for secure displays that go beyond lock and key. Traditional anti-theft devices limit theft but also reduce impulse sales, inconvenience shoppers and dilute branding. ILP’s intelligent displays allow for open merchandising, maximizing brand impact while reclaiming sales.
ILP formed through a relationship with IMCo Berlin, premier loss prevention consultants to the European retail industry. IMCo’s expertise results from extensive studies of customer and shoplifter behavior. ILP is proud to be the exclusive North American distributor of the OPEN Merchandising System.
In spring 2011, ILP expanded into RFID through a partnership with
Surfaceslab of Portugal. Surfaceslab offers state-of-the-art smart surfaces which enable object communication via RFID. These unparalleled advancements in item-level RFID technology have opened new possibilities in locating and identifying products, stock monitoring, theft protection and customer interaction.
